Game of Thrones Season 2
Overview
Game of Thrones is a 2011 fantasy drama television series created by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss for HBO. The second season continues the story of the War of the Five Kings. The five kings are: Joffrey Baratheon (Jack Gleeson), the cruel, illegitimate king in King's Landing; Stannis Baratheon (Stephen Dillane), Robert's younger brother, who believes he is the rightful king; Renly Baratheon (Gethin Anthony), Robert's youngest brother; Robb Stark (Richard Madden), Ned's eldest son, who is declared King in the North; and Balon Greyjoy (Patrick Malahide), the ruler of the Iron Islands, who declares independence. The season also follows Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), the exiled daughter of the deposed king, as she tries to build an army. The second season ends with the Battle of the Blackwater, where Stannis is defeated. Game of Thrones is an epic, sprawling, and addictive series.
