Overview
Game of Thrones Season 4 continues the story of the aftermath of the Red Wedding, focusing on the conflict between the Lannisters and the remaining Starks. The season features the trial of Tyrion Lannister, who is accused of murdering his nephew King Joffrey. Despite his claims of innocence, Tyrion is found guilty and sentenced to death. He escapes after killing his father, Tywin, and his former lover, Shae. Across the Narrow Sea, Daenerys Targaryen conquers the cities of Slaver's Bay and establishes herself as a ruler, but struggles to maintain order. At the Wall, Jon Snow leads the defense against the wildling army and kills the traitorous Karl Tanner. The season ends with Tyrion fleeing Westeros, Arya sailing to Braavos, and Bran reaching the Three-Eyed Raven. Game of Thrones Season 4 is widely considered one of the best seasons of the series.
