The Grudge
Overview
A Tokyo house holds a grudge, literally — enter and the curse follows you home. Shimizu remakes his own Ju-On for American audiences without sanding down the dread: croaking throats, pale faces in dark corners, a timeline that keeps you off balance. Gellar makes a sympathetic lead. The shower scene ruined bathrooms for a generation. J-horror's stateside peak. Best experienced after dark, if you're brave.
