Overview
One Piece is a 2023 fantasy adventure television series created by Matt Owens and Steven Maeda for Netflix, based on the manga series of the same name by Eiichiro Oda. The first season follows Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy), a young pirate who sets sail to find the legendary treasure, the One Piece. He is joined by a crew of misfits: Roronoa Zoro (Mackenyu), a swordsman; Nami (Emily Rudd), a navigator; Usopp (Jacob Romero), a sniper; and Sanji (Taz Skylar), a chef. The first season adapts the first major story arc of the manga, the East Blue Saga. The series was a massive success for Netflix, becoming one of its most-watched series. It was praised for its cast, its visual effects, and its faithful adaptation of the beloved manga. The series has been renewed for a second season.
