Overview

Brooklyn Nine-Nine is a 2013 police sitcom television series created by Michael Schur and Dan Goor for Fox, later revived by NBC. The first season is set at the 99th Precinct of the New York Police Department in Brooklyn. The series follows a group of detectives and their captain. The main characters include Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg), a talented, immature, and goofy detective; Captain Raymond Holt (Andre Braugher), the stern, deadpan, and brilliant new captain; Sergeant Terry Jeffords (Terry Crews), a gentle giant who is terrified of being injured; Detective Rosa Diaz (Stephanie Beatriz), a tough, intimidating, and mysterious detective; Detective Amy Santiago (Melissa Fumero), a competitive, ambitious, and nerdy detective; Detective Charles Boyle (Joe Lo Truglio), a loyal, quirky, and food-obsessed detective; and Gina Linetti (Chelsea Peretti), the precinct's narcissistic, eccentric civilian administrator. The first season establishes the characters and their dynamics. The series is a fast-paced, witty, and inclusive sitcom.
