Overview
The Sandman is a 2022 fantasy drama television series created by Neil Gaiman for Netflix, based on his comic book series of the same name. The first season follows Dream (Tom Sturridge), the lord of dreams, as he escapes from a century of captivity and seeks to restore his kingdom. He must travel across the Dreaming and the waking world to find his lost tools of power: his helm, his pouch of sand, and his ruby. The series is a faithful adaptation of the first two volumes of the comic, Preludes and Nocturnes and The Doll's House. The series was a critical and commercial success, praised for its stunning visuals, its complex characters, and its faithful adaptation. The series has been renewed for a second season.
