Overview
The Sopranos is a 1999 crime drama television series created by David Chase for HBO. The second season continues the story of Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini). Tony is dealing with the fallout from his mother's death. He is also dealing with a new threat: a rival mobster from New York, Richie Aprile (David Proval), who is released from prison. Richie is a violent, unpredictable psychopath who clashes with Tony. The season also introduces a new character, Janice Soprano (Aida Turturro), Tony's sister, who returns to New Jersey. The second season ends with Tony killing Richie to protect his nephew, Christopher. The Sopranos is a masterpiece of television, with brilliant writing, acting, and direction.
