Overview
Prison Break is a 2005 serial drama television series created by Paul Scheuring for Fox. The series follows Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller), a structural engineer who gets himself sent to prison to help his brother, Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell), escape death row. Lincoln has been framed for the murder of the Vice President's brother. Michael has the blueprints of the prison tattooed on his body, and he has a elaborate escape plan. The first season is set in Fox River State Penitentiary, a maximum-security prison in Illinois. Michael navigates the dangers of prison life, making alliances with other inmates, including Fernando Sucre (Amaury Nolasco), a good-natured thief; Theodore "T-Bag" Bagwell (Robert Knepper), a racist, psychopathic killer; Benjamin "C-Note" Franklin (Rockmond Dunbar), a former soldier; and John Abruzzi (Peter Stormare), a mob boss. The first season ends with the inmates escaping from the prison. Prison Break was a massive ratings success, and it won a Golden Globe for Best Television Series Drama.
