Overview
It is a 2017 supernatural horror film directed by Andy Muschietti, based on Stephen King's iconic 1986 novel. Set in the fictional town of Derry, Maine, the film follows a group of outcast kids known as the Losers Club who are terrorized by a shape-shifting entity that most often takes the form of Pennywise the Dancing Clown, played with terrifying brilliance by Bill Skarsgård. Balancing genuine scares with heartfelt coming-of-age drama, It became the highest-grossing horror film of all time upon release and reminded audiences that Stephen King adaptations could be both artistically accomplished and massively entertaining.
