The series is set in the competitive world of Regency-era London's high society, during the "season," when debutantes are presented to the Queen in hopes of finding a wealthy husband. The series is a Shondaland production, and it has a modern, diverse, and feminist sensibility. The series follows the Bridgerton family, a wealthy, aristocratic family of eight siblings. The first season focused on Daphne's relationship with Simon Basset, the Duke of Hastings. The second season focused on Anthony's relationship with Kate Sharma. The third season focused on Colin's relationship with Penelope Featherington. The fourth season will focus on Benedict's story. The series is known for its lavish costumes, its diverse casting, its steamy sex scenes, and its modern pop music covers performed by string quartets. Bridgerton has been a massive success for Netflix, becoming one of its most-watched series. It has won four Primetime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Costumes. A fourth season is in production.
